Marshfest is in its second year and is aiming to be bigger and better than before. This year the not-for-profit group have teamed up with the Welcome Centre, food bank and more with the aim of bringing the community together for a family fun day whilst raising money for the local charity. They have set themselves the challenge of raising at least £2000 from the event with all proceeds going to the food bank to assist people in getting back on their feet.
The festival is taking place in the stunning grounds of the Ukrainian Club, Marsh on 22nd July 2017 from 1pm till late with a fun packed day of entertainment for all the family. Sponsored by Ricky’s School of Rock and Syngenta, the event brings together a plethora of local music and performing art talent with a wide range of music to suit everyone’s tastes from folk through to blues with pop and rock covers thrown in. Headline acts include Flock of 3, Fie! Fie! Fie! Leo Brazil and his Twitch, Kelter and much more. Live music will start on the outdoor stage sponsored by Ricky’s School of Rock from 12.30pm with Locrian’s Garden and the music will move inside at 8pm to The Marsh Blues Club stage with Darren Poyzar. Other entertainment will include the ‘Hathor’ belly-dance troupe, an acoustic rock choir and much more.
