Coaching is a powerful tool that can be used to improve individual and organisational performance and effectiveness. Coaching helps individuals challenge themselves to seek their own solutions and get to grips with life’s challenges in general.
It is a confidential one-to-one process delivered by me, a fully qualified coach – it's a good idea to check the credentials of any coach you are planning to work with, and whether they receive regular training and supervision.
Coaching enables people to formulate their own ideas and solutions.. As a coach I will seek to unlock a persons capabilities through guided conversation and questioning, and so coaching feels like an intense conversation focused on you, and is a rare opportunity for most people to reflect and really think about their goals and aspirations.
Coaching is a great way to help managers, staff or volunteers to grow in their current roles, to perform them at the highest level and/or to help them to prepare for their next role. It is a good way to think through new or different ways of doing things or enhance skills you already have.
Coaching will have the best results for those who are open to new ideas and are willing to experiment with new ways of doing things. You would be accountable for your own development and and you will only progress if you are prepared to take action as a result of coaching sessions.
Coaching can help improve overall performance often by focusing on specific areas such as communication, improving confidence, developing assertiveness, problem solving, decision making and managing relationships.
An initial chat is required, face to face, to establish whether coaching is appropriate for the individual or organisation, and to explore what they want out of the coaching contract. There is no charge for this initial consultation. However there is a charge for my coaching services - special rates apply for VCS and not for profit organisations.
