A Huddersfield charity that promotes healthy lives outdoors has expanded their activities with a little help from Comoodle
Growing Works encourage people to engage in outdoor activities and therapeutic gardening through their projects “Sprout”, “Young Shoots” and “Bud”. Their aim is to develop an outdoor therapeutic centre open to all, which is a safe space for groups and volunteers to grow together as well as being available to other groups to enjoy.
Comoodle managed to provide two large shipping containers adjacent to Growing Works’ allotment plot at Wakefield Road in Dalton. These containers will serve as tool shed, storage for resources, potting shed, and woodworking area. Sue Brown, project manager from the charity, said “There are vacant allotments on the site, so the opportunity to grow more is very exciting.
"The current allotment holders have been very welcoming and show what can be done with a bit of nurture."
