Inspired by a presentation our very own Duggs gave at the Third Sector Leaders meeting in December, Paul Jones from the Denby Dale Centre went straight back to base to add 7 resources to the Comoodle website. Via the website you will see their 16-seater mini buses to hire, 3 meeting spaces, one with an accessible toilet, and 3 training courses that are offered at a 50% discount to community groups.
Paul Jones, Chief Officer of the Denby Dale Centre said,
Established in 2004 to run activities in the community; fast forward to 2018 and you can now see what stuff, space and skills they have to share with you on the Comoodle website. And what a set of resources they have to offer!
First Aid at Work? Emergency First Aid? Food Hygiene? All these great skills would massively increase your confidence and reach in delivering quality activities to your customers – book on the courses and bag yourself a place. And they even offer free places on the courses if you can host the course at your venue free of charge!
Looking for somewhere to meet? The Kirkburton Hub, refurbed in 2018, has two spaces, a hall and a meeting room, and an accessible toilet. And their Charity Shop in Denby Dale has small meeting room available to use – pop into the shop for a browse and see the wonderful volunteers whilst you are there. Have a look at the photo gallery of the spaces to share.
Groups can hire accessible minibuses from the Valleys Community Transport fleet (part of the Denby Dale Centre) on a bespoke basis; you tell them where and when you need the transport and they work with you to ensure a smoothly run transport provision is provided. Check out their mini bus, along with their terms and conditions.
And in a real show of Community Spirit, Carers Trust have made a parking space at their new site available free of charge so that one of the minibuses can be based at Aspley. Mags Rogerson, Business Development Manager for Carers Trust, said:
If you want to know more about the Denby Dale Centre there are loads of ways to find out about them – contact Paul Jones on [email protected], visit their website, say hello to them on their Facebook page, and come and see their resources on Comoodle.
