A facility offering help and support for people in need has been able to expand on activities it offers to the Kirklees community thanks to our online platform.
Huddersfield Mission sits in the heart of the town centre and each day a variety of activities take place such as keep-fit, support groups and community meetings.
The Mission enlisted the help of our platform to share its main hall, theatre area, meeting rooms, a crafts area and IT suite for those needing the space.
“We’ve been able to expand what we can offer for the people of Huddersfield thanks to using Comoodle as a platform to stage everything we can share,” said Kayleigh Proctor, from the Mission.
“We have a lot of space in the building from six to 260 people so we can share lots of opportunities. It’s shown to work too because we have keep-fit classes, IT courses, hobby groups and support groups using the spaces each week.
“By having this space, and the groups seeing it first on Comoodle, they know what to expect. We’re central to the town too so the Mission is easy to get to and affordable.”
The Mission’s range of spaces are either offered for free or in return of a small charge which, in turn, helps the facility to stage its popular activities.
“Comoodle has been really good for the groups that we appeal to – particularly those that are newly-formed and didn’t necessarily know that we had spaces available,” Kayleigh added.
“The message of Comoodle is about sharing things that are community resources. There’s no massive fees and no high expectations placed on people.
“It’s a really useful tool to get the message out there that there are stuff, skills and space available to the community.”
